Question:
Who owns Cadbury at the moment?

I am really confused.
Wikipedia said this - These days, Cadbury is just a family business.
"Cadbury's Chocolate Factory, is a working chocolate factory belonging to the french division of international confectionery company Cadbury coke, and is located in Claremont, France."

From another website I got this - In 1988 Hershey obtained the license to manufacture Cadbury chocolate in the US.

From another website I got this - Cadbury was acquired by Kraft Foods in March 2010.

I would really like to know the actual answer if you have it.
Thanks :)

On January 19, 2010, it was announced that Cadbury and Kraft Foods had reached a deal and that Kraft would purchase Cadbury for £8.40 per share, valuing Cadbury at £11.5bn (US$18.9bn).

The Hershey Company, based in Pennsylvania, manufactured and distributed Cadbury-branded chocolate (but not its other confectionery) in the United States. Hershey had expressed an interest in buying Cadbury but on January 22, 2010, Hershey announced that it would not counter Kraft's final offer.

When Kraft Foods split into two companies they announced that as of October 1, 2012 Cadbury would be a part of Mondelēz International, Inc.

It's a shame that Cadbury has been bought by Kraft I just don't hope that Kraft try and change Cadbury into some American style chocolate. I want Cadbury chocolate to stay the same.

Do not confuse the company of Cadbury with chocolate. Cadburys make all sorts of foods, not just chocolate

Claremont is the home of the food and beverage division

A license to manufacture is just permission to manufacture and perhaps distribute. It does not mean you own any part of the company.

I am inconsolable beyond words. I've been following this story closely since they first launched their bid and I thought it was doomed to failure, it makes no financial sense at all in the long term. I agree with you, every merger I've encountered has turned into a horror story beyond the quick buck it offers to greedy shareholders. Since I read the paper this morning I've been completely distraught. It's a terribly sad day for England, one of our most beloved and last remaining institutions sold off to another greedy and degenerate debt ridden U.S company. With the exception of Malcolm Glazer and his inbred offspring who have raped and pillaged my football Club there's no one today I would wish a more agonizing demise visited upon than Kraft CEO Irene Rosenfeld. I hope she chokes to death on one of her own processed cheese meals. regards mephisto @Marco Rossi: This certainly was a hostile bid.
