Question:
What does a "UPS Internal Activity Code" mean?!?

I did some online shopping and it is being shipped by UPS, but the day after it shipped it turned into an "exception" and the details say "UPS Internal Activity Code". The only info about this that I can find online says that it happens when things are shipped across country borders or if the package is suspected of containing something dangerous. The UPS site is very ambiguous about it.

It was only a few pairs of panties that I was hoping to surprise my boyfriend with...and it is a domestic shipment (CA to ME). What is going on?! Has anyone else had this? Should I call UPS or will the problem work itself out?

I had the exact same problem! I ordered a package from Forever21 on 11/28!

I got an email saying it was shipped on 11/29 with the UPS tracking number. I checked on UPS's website and it said it was in transit the 11/30 and I had an expected arrival date of 12/5. I checked again early morning on 12/2 and the status of my package was "in transit." I checked later that evening and the status had become an "exception" and the details were also only listed as "UPS Internal Activity Code."

I checked several times a day and the tracking information/status or date did not changed at all like I thought it would. I was really starting to worry...but I thought I would wait until the next business day (Monday) to somehow contact UPS about the status...

I checked just a few minutes ago,by chance, and the status of my package is now back to being "in transit" and I should receive it by Monday!!!

It seems as though in my case it all worked out. I'm not sure why my package has been delayed. I've ordered from this merchant before and it's always been on time. I'm blaming the busy holiday season. At least I know my package is on it's way, finally!

Good luck with receiving your package! :)

Same here. Ordered a digital camera from Walmart.com. Apparently it had to be imported from Canada. UPS ground service to VA. Shipped on 12/1, and UPS tracking has said "UPS INTERNAL ACTIVITY CODE" since 12/2.

I just got the same problem. I am waiting for an item from the Danbury Mint and it shipped on the 2nd and ever since there has been an exception with this code. I hope it clears soon as I am wanting this as a gift. If anyone can update how long it took their item that would be great!

I ordered something from NYC to Oklahoma and the same status code popped up on my shipment information. My UPS rep called UPS headquarters and they said that my shipment was delayed due to a High Volume of shipments.

I was afraid of some grease ball stealing my shipment but I guess I should have paid the additional 9.00 to do a 2day Air shipment.

I got the same thing a day after my package was shipped from CA to NC on Dec 1. My package contained computer parts including two new hard drives and a sound card.

What the hell does the CFR have to do with Americans wanting the fed audited in America? hmm... That's hilarious they say "incredibly Ron Paul has persuaded..." He didn't persuade anybody. He introduced the bill and his SUPPORTERS did the persuading, through calls and emails. They sure are going to great lengths to get this thing out of the public eye, but it's too late. The cat is out of the bag.

Standard response to a bypass on these. Hope you have done it in such a way that you can easily put it back as it will not pass an MOT like this

Got the same problem with something coming from FL to NJ. I called UPS and they said it may be due to a high amount of packages. My package is somewhere between FL and NJ they aren't 100% sure.
