Question:
Royal Mail (wrong) delivery service - Has anyone else experienced anything like this?

In this morning's post I had one letter addressed to 'The Occupier'. In the following couple of hours 3 different neighbours come round with a total of 8 items, all clearly addressed to me with my name, correct house number and post code. Is this a mistake or carelessness.

When the 1st neighbour called I thought nothing of it, mistakes happen but by the time the 3rd neighbour called I felt I should be making a polite complaint.

Should Royal Mail be made aware of such errors, after all not all neighbours would be honest enough to re-deliver mail.

Yes they should be made aware. Get in touch with them and complain.

In RustyB's case it was obvious that the postman doing the delivery didn't have his mind on the job!

You can e-mail the Royal Mail from their web site and usually they do something about it.

The service will get worse as the Royal Mail is asset-stripped and slimmed down ready for privatisation.

Has your local post office been closed down yet?

YES! of course royal mail should be made aware of such errors.....for the love of God, the letters were all clearly addressed to you...correctly....how difficult can it be to put it through the right letter box....grrrrr.....makes me mad! they have a complaints line for just this sort of thing....possibly pop to your local post office for the number or maybe directory of enquiries....do it!

Yes, I used to get all the mail for several houses down the street, so I rang Royal Mail and they sent me an apology and a book of stamps!

Yes, this has happened to me too and it is down right carelessness on someone's part, but extremely inconvenient. Plus I had paid the £15 for redirection privelige! And things were not redelivered!
