Yes, they are a Monopoly, good for them! They treat new customers like gold and old customers like crap. The introductory rates are great and include all the bells and whilstles at no extra charge. Once you get use to all the good things your intoductory rate goes up 50%.
Now the real question about them being a Monopoly. Being a Monopoly is legal unless it harms it consumers. If a Company is a Monopoly like Maw Bell was then the goverment can come in and break the company up into smaller parts that have to compete against one another. When the goverment has done this in the past they screwed it up. The point was to no longer harm consumers but somehow they still got it wrong. I recall we use to rent our home phones from Maw Bell (At&t) and pay outrages fees. Well, now a-days we still pay outrages fees but can own our own phone equipment and have many options of compaines to screw us over.

They are crooks. I only want internet and they are making me pay $60/month....it use to only be $34.99 and they raised it to $10 more at 44.99 and the 3rd year to 57.99. It's crazy. I don't care for cable tv. But now they are saying we can add tv and you only have to pay $95 a month. It keeps going up. They offer 3mbs, 10mbs, and 50mbs.

I think cable should be like any other big billing co. gas bill only charge for what you use !!, cable should Only be charged when it's on, so what your bill normal is ok, now when you turn it off you should not be charged when your TV is off, there crooks like AIG, and so on...........
